Obesity: Solution in Homeopathic HCG?
Mar 16th, 2010 | By Amelia Handley | Category: DietObesity is one of those topics that is currently under discussion. It’s been under discussion for a while. And it will, undoubtedly, continue to be under discussion for a long time to come because it continues to be one of those major social problems that we can’t get under control.
When considering the cause of the obesity epidemic. It is impossible to point the finger at any one item. There are multiple causes. One possible cause is genetics. Many find it obvious that obesity and/or weight issues run in families. To these people it is an obvious conclusion that bad genetics are the cause of obesity. Children who have obese parents have a 25 to 30% chance of becoming obese themselves. This leads some to indicate that the obesity epidemic was caused simply by biology.
But other experts suggest it is not biology alone causing society to suffer from obesity. They suggest it is a combination of both cultural and biological factors. In addition to inheriting genes that could leave them more likely to suffer from obesity, children learn bad eating and lifestyle habits from their parents and/or siblings. Negative food choices, and poor priorities when it comes to nutrition increase the risk for obesity greatly. And obesity negatively affects the general health.
Cultural factors are a major problem when it comes to the obesity epidemic. Society accepts and even prizes high fat, high sugar and high calorie food. Many regard huge portion sizes as advantageous. A large portion of society does not exercise regularly.
The notable increase in the amount of emotional and mental problems that plague members of today’s society also lend a helping hand to the obesity epidemic. Mental issues such as: anxiety, anger, depression, stress and boredom can all increase the likelihood for overeating which leads to further weight gain/issues. And for causes that cannot be specifically pinpointed these mental issues are more prevalent in today’s society than ever before.
The cause of the obesity epidemic cannot be pinpointed to one particular habit or issue. The epidemic was created from a wide group of bad habits and negative social structures. In order to eliminate the problem society’s rules must change. Individuals must make long term changes to their daily eating and cooking habits in order to make lasting change to their weight and therefore, their health.
Amelia Handley majored in exercise science in college with a minor in Nutrition. Yet she still found herself veering from diet to diet in order to control her weight. With HCG Diet Direct she’s found a program that allows her to combine her desire to control her own body weight with her education and not feel off balance.
